DECATUR, Ga. – The City of Decatur is helping homeowners find effective new ways to lower their property’s energy usage through pathways toward affordable options that can reduce home energy costs. City residents can now receive support to:
The goal of the City of Decatur’s newly offered Community Energy Rebate goal is to help Decatur homeowners access the benefits of home electrification, energy efficiency and weatherization.The first phase of the City’s program is designed for homeowners to receive point-of-sale discounts on eligible projects, with a payment in the approved rebate amount issued to the performing contractor following project completion. Focused on heat pump water heaters, Electrify Decatur’s first Group Purchase program encourages residents to consider replacement of conventional water heaters by buying collectively during a limited-time window now open. Interested purchasers have until Aug. 3 to sign up for free – without obligation – to become eligible to buy a discounted system. Homeowners can save up to 20 percent on the price of the equipment by purchasing a heat pump water heater through this discount method.
